Welcome to 2016

Welcome to the friends and families of the 2016 Year Seven Class,

We welcome three new families to our school and class this year. Welcome to Sepeti, Samuel and Carlin. For the first two terms we will be working with the Year 8’s, so the children will be having myself and Mr Cartlidge as their teachers.

I will be sending out weekly emails to help you know what is going on at school and to pass on any reminders or notices that are needed. These will usually be sent on a Sunday by 5 so please make sure you regularly check your emails.
Attached to this newsletter is a small get to know you activity for you and your child to complete to help me get to know them better. Can you please write your email address on this too.

We have a busy start to the term with an action filled first few weeks. We have swimming starting on Friday 5th of February. Monday in week 2 is a public holiday, then we have swimming on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We are starting the term looking at financial literacy in Maths, who we are and our hub environment for inquiry and our personality types using Myers Briggs.
We will have P.E on Wednesday this week.

To see what is going on in our Hub please remember to look on the teaching and learning site: https://sites.google.com/a/stjoseph.school.nz/teaching-and-learning-at-st-joseph-s/ The children's learning can continue at home and these conversations are very valuable to their learning.

I will put notices and other things that are going on on our class blog. You can access this at: http://year7stjoseph.blogspot.co.nz/
Please have a look at your child’s blog (link can be found on class blog soon) with their learning and share the address with your family and friends to widen their audience.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or come and see me at any time.

Many thanks,

Miss Tangney
